James Dixon and Sons are immensely proud of our heritage in the cutlery trade. For centuries we have been designing and crafting cutlery using the traditional methods. Todays craftsmen continue to produce the finest cutlery using these time-honoured skills and in many cases using the original dies.

James Dixon and Sons are quite unique in that we are able to say that all the processes in the production of the spoon and forks are completed in our Sheffield workshops, the same can be said for the knife handles but the blades are produced elsewhere, we aren’t specialists in Stainless steel so we work closely with those that are.

All our cutlery is silver plated to 35 microns -essential for durability. Each piece is individually crafted at every stage from stamping through filing and into hand polishing. This ensures the quality and finesse of every piece is guaranteed and why the finished cutlery can be found on many of the most prestigious tabletops in the world.
